What is the Rights Issue ratio?

What is the rights issue ratio?

The rights issue ratio specifies the number of additional shares offered for every specified number of existing shares held on the record date. For example, a rights issue announced in a ratio of 2:5 allows eligible shareholders to apply for 2 additional shares for every 5 existing shares held on the record date.
