What is account grouping in CDSL, and how can accounts be grouped using the CDSL online platform? |
- Grouping in CDSL refers to linking multiple Demat accounts under a single login ID on the CDSL Easi platform, simplifying the management of multiple accounts by providing easy access to holdings and transactions in one place.
- To group your accounts via the CDSL, please follow these steps:
- Log in to CDSL.
- Once logged in, go to the miscellaneous section.
- Select 'Edit Grouping'.
- From the drop-down menu, select Edit Grouping.
- Enter the Beneficial Owner ID (BOID) you wish to group. to know more, see General Information about CDSL Easi and Easiest?
- Click on Add to include it in the group.
- The grouping request will be sent to your Depository Participant (DP) for authentication. Once approved by the DP, the grouping will be updated successfully.

RELATED FACTS:- - Easiest/easi provides a facility to "group additional Demat accounts" to a single login ID.You can group one additional account to the login ID registered to be Easiest/Easi. You should be one of the holders in the accounts that are being grouped.
- E.g.: If "A" is registering for easiest services, he can group any of the accounts in which he is one of the holders -
- Account 1 - A, B
- Account 2 - B, A
- Account 3 - B, C, A
You can only view the account details of the additional BO account that is being grouped. Setting up of transactions through the additional grouped account will not be permitted.
- A BO can group a maximum of 8 additional BOIDs to his/her login during registration or as and when required. In other words, through 1 login ID, you can set up transactions for 1 BOID only.
