Can a client do BTST (Buy Today, Sell Tomorrow) trading under MTF, and will interest be charged?

Yes, a client can enter into a BTST trade using MTF.

For example, if a client enters a BTST trade by buying 1,000 shares of XYZ Ltd. at ₹500 each on Monday using MTF and selling them on Tuesday.

Such trades are allowed under MTF, and margin funding will be provided for the holding duration, i.e., from the day of purchase (Monday) until the day of sale (Tuesday).

However, interest will still be charged on such trades based on the opening balance of T+1 day (Tuesday).
