Why do I see a “Mobile Number Already Registered” error while opening an online account?

Reasons for the error:

  • Your mobile number is already associated with an active account under the DIY or Premium scheme.
  • The system does not allow registration under both schemes using the same mobile number.
  • Similarly, if you try to register under one scheme while an account under the other is still active, the process will be blocked or rejected.

How to resolve the issue:

  • To switch between schemes, you must first close your existing trading account. After closure, wait for 3 working days. You can then reinitiate the account opening process under your preferred scheme (DIY or Premium) using the same mobile number and PAN.
