What is the process to open an Offline Demat account? 

An individual Demat account can be opened online only if the mobile number is linked with Aadhaar. If the mobile number is not linked with Aadhaar, the offline account opening process must be followed.

Steps to Open an Offline Demat Account: 

    • Download the Individual Account Opening Form (PDF).  

    • Fill in all required details as per the sample filled form (PDF) to ensure accuracy.  

    • Attach the required documents, including KYC documents and bank proof, as applicable for an offline individual account. 

    • Submit the completed application by either 

    • Couriering the documents to the Head Office, or 

    • Visiting the nearest branch.

Important Information: 

    • Offline account opening requires submission of the duly filled application form, KYC documents, bank proof, and completion of In-Person Verification (IPV). 

    • If all submitted documents are complete and accurate, the account is generally opened within 48 hours. 

    • If the applicant is unable to sign due to illiteracy, blindness, disability, or mental disability, a thumb impression may be accepted subject to regulatory requirements, along with supporting documents such as a medical certificate and necessary verification by the authorized official.
