What is the process to convert a minor PAN to a major PAN?

When a minor turns 18, their PAN card must be updated with the latest photograph, signature, and personal details. This is known as converting a minor PAN to a major PAN.

Online Process:

1. Visit the official PAN portal –  NSDL or Protean.
2. Select the option for "Changes or Correction in existing PAN data."
3. Fill in the required details and select the relevant update (minor to major).
4. Upload supporting documents.
5. Submit the application via e-sign or physical mode as required.
6. Pay the applicable charges and note the acknowledgment number for tracking.

Documents Required:

1. PAN (existing)
2. Aadhaar (as proof of identity and address)
3. Passport-size photograph
4. Signature of the applicant (now a major)
