The client must provide the applicable margin before MTF funding is provided and continue to maintain the required margin throughout the position. The margin requirement can change due to an increase in VAR, a fall in the market value of the funded securities, or a reduction in the value of pledged collateral. If the available margin falls below the required margin, the client may need to provide additional funds or eligible collateral to restore the required margin. Example: If the applicable margin for a stock is 25% and the purchase value is ₹10 lakh, the client needs to provide ₹2.5 lakh, while the remaining ₹7.5 lakh can be funded under MTF.
