An Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) is a person who holds a foreign passport (such as one issued by the USA, UK, Canada, or another country) but has Indian ancestry or roots. OCI status allows eligible individuals to maintain a lifelong connection with India and enjoy various benefits, including multiple-entry, lifelong visa-free travel to India and exemption from registering with local authorities for long-term stays.
