How to update or modify the nominee details at Jainam?

  • If the nominee has to be changed, if there is any modification in existing nominee's details, or if the nominee(s) is to be deleted/opt-out,  then the account holder needs to fill and sign the Nominee form, To view the nomination Sample filled form,
  • The account holder needs to fill in updated details of those persons whom he wants to nominate now in this form.
  • For example:- If the account holder, Mr. X, has 3 nominees, A, B, and C, and now:
    1. If the address of first nominee, A, has been changed, then X have to fill in the details of A with updated address and same details of other holders, B and C.
    2. If Mr. X now wants to add a new nominee, E, in place of C, then he has to fill in the details of A, B, and E in the form and sign it.
    3. If Mr. X wants to remove A only, then he has to fill in the details of B and C only in the form and sign it. Jainam will remove A as nominee if his details are not mentioned in the nomination form.

  • The new nominee(s) details will be updated within a few working days of receiving the forms.

RELATED FACTS: -

  • Non-Individual accounts as HUF, Partnership firm, LLP, Corporate account cannot have a nominee.
  • If the nominee is a minor, mention the guardian details and provide ID proof of the guardian. The account holder cannot be added as the guardian of the nominee. For minor accounts, the guardian cannot be added as the nominee.
  • The nominee would apply to the trading and demat account, including mutual fund investments.
  • Dormant account holders must reactivate the account to add a nominee.
  • Charitable trusts cannot be added as a nominee.
  • Joint account holders and NRI can only add a nominee(s) offline. A nominee can be added online only if the mobile number is linked to the Aadhaar and a nominee was not added earlier. NRIs can add nominee(s) offline, as long as their Aadhaar is linked to their active mobile number.
  • It will take 7 working days to complete the nominee process and you can select a maximum of 3 nominees.
  • The names of the nominees must exactly match the names on their documents to simplify the process of making claims in difficult situations. Photo of nominee is not required.
