Why dividends are not credited in my bank a/c and what should I do in order to get them?

The Registrar and Transfer Agents (RTA) appointed by companies are responsible for processing dividend payments. Shareholders who are eligible for the dividends but have not received them can contact the RTA.

The details of the RTAs of a company can be found on the NSE and BSE.

Follow the given steps to know the details of the RTA:

  • RTA registered with NSE:
    1. Visit nseindia.com.
    2. Search for the company whose dividend is not received in your primary bank account.
    3. Select the 'Corporate disclosures.'
    4. Select the 'Corporate Directory' and then 'Transfer Agent' details.

  • For RTA registered with BSE: 
    1. Visit bseindia.com.
    2. Search for the company.
    3. Select Corporate Information and scroll down to find the registrar's details.

RELATED FACTS:

  • If the dividend credit is unsuccessful for any reason, the company's RTA will issue a dividend warrant and courier it to the investor's registered postal address. The investor can deposit the warrant into their bank account and encash it.
