Does selling shares before the Bonus share credit date affect Bonus issue eligibility?

Does selling shares before the bonus share credit date affect bonus issue eligibility?

Eligibility is determined based on the applicable record date and relevant settlement framework and not simply by the date on which bonus shares are credited.

Example:

  • A holding qualifying under the applicable record date may have a bonus entitlement even when the original shares arsubsequently sold before the bonus shares are credited, subject to the applicable corporate action and settlement rules.

Important to remember: The record date, ex-date, and settlement requirements should be checked for determining eligibility.
